After much thought, consideration, and prayer, I have decided to go into semi-retirement from the Blooming Lotus blog. I posted my first blog entry over five years and have (until recently) been writing about healing from child abuse daily. I have reached a place where I don’t have much more say than I have already shared.

I plan to check in frequently enough so that the blog does not become inactive and get dropped by WordPress. I have five years’ worth of information offering support for people who are struggling with healing from child abuse, and I want to make sure that support remains available for those who are seeking it.

Additionally, I am helping launch a new charity for child abuse survivors, which will include a message board and chat room that I am **hoping** will go live this month. I will be back to share more about the wonderful new resource soon. Once the charity’s website goes live, I will share more about it. This blog will remain an Amazon affiliate, and all revenues generated will be donated to support this charity.

I so appreciate all of my readers who have journeyed with me over the last five years and will miss my daily interactions with you. Please know that each of you carries a special place in my heart.

Too much going on

Hi, all.

I have too much going on in my life right now to blog, and none of it is related to healing from child abuse. I’ll try to get back to it later in the week.

Hi, all.

As I have shared before, I am working full-time hours for three more weeks. This week, my kid is out of school half the week, and we will be traveling on top of me squeezing in 40 hours of work, so I have no time to blog. I’ll try to get back to it next week. I should have more time after 10/15. :0)

Hi, all.

My old laptop is on life support after fritzing out yesterday. I bought a new one yesterday and am in the process of migrating over. This took a big chunk of my day and put me behind in work. It might take me a few days to catch up with work and get up and running again.

Sick today

Hi, everyone.

My son brought home a cold from school and took down the whole house. :0( I am pushing through what I need to get done for work and will otherwise sleep today.

My sister, Lydia, let me know there are a bunch of comments posted about the drama with momster from right before I took an end-of-summer break. I do want to catch up on them — I just need to kick the cold first. Please hang with me. ~ Faith

Hi, all.

I am going to take the next week off of blogging to wrap up the summer. I’ll be traveling to the beach and then getting my son settled in to school. I’ll start back blogging on Monday, 8/27.

Hi, all.

Thankfully, I wrote ahead this week, and you are going to chuckle when you see the Thu & Fri topic after reading this message. Please bear with me in reading and responding to comments for the next couple of weeks.

Two weeks ago, a horse stepped on my 11-year-old child’s foot. No fracture was apparent in the X-ray, but his foot was very swollen, and he has been in an equalizer boot ever since. (This is a kid with ADHD who cannot burn his energy off.)

My family traveled last week with the poor kid limping around in his boot. At his doctor’s appointment yesterday, we learned that his foot is, in fact, broken but nondisplaced, which means it is healing nicely but will take at least two more weeks to heal. The doctor does not believe there will be any long-term damage — we just have to get through two more weeks of Mr. Hyperactivity being unable to burn off his energy. (He is allowed to swim, so we might have to hit the pool a lot.)

Hi, all.

I had another bout of reflux, so I am in pain again. I started my Rx medication yesterday, but it takes about a week to kick in. I spent all day yesterday in bed and will likely do the same again today. Here’s hoping I am feeling much better next week.

Have a good weekend!

Hi, all.

Several new commenters have been including their full names and Facebook links. I strongly recommend against this and have been removing identifying information as I see it. I probably won’t be on the blog this weekend, so please be sure to protect your privacy.

The only identifying information that is safe to include is an email address, which only I can see. Even for that, I recommend opening a separate, private email account, which you can do for free through Google, Yahoo, or Hotmail. Post your first name only (I recommend an alias), and absolutely do not link your comment to your Facebook page. That will automatically insert your picture onto your comment. ~ Faith
